Five Memorable Moments From Four Wheeler’s CJ-3B Adventure
There was a part of me that knew this Four Wheeler adventure was going to be an interesting one the second I first came across the lead photo for their latest “DED,” or “Dirt Every Day” tour.
For starters, the team hadn’t done one in years. Secondly, any trip that involves a CJ-3B Jeep has to have a few unexpected twists and turns, simply because of how odd the SUV is in itself. And to cap it off, the Jeep was completely untested. All of which sets the stage for all sorts of unforeseen elements.
Below are the top five things we found most entertaining about Four Wheeler’s CJ-3B DED Tour along with five of our favorite photos.
5. The CJ-3B’s stock 134ci F-head four-cylinder had been sitting for 14 years when Four Wheeler bought it.
4. A giant steel gas tank had been installed in the bed and was full of rust. The 40-pound unit was removed and replaced with a used plastic Jeep YJ tank from Performance Off Road Products’ backyard, which was strapped down in the back with plumber’s tape.
3. The only gauges that worked in the vehicle were the temperature gauges.
2. At one point the guys had to be pulled up a mountain for 60 miles because of the CJ-3B’s capacitor.
1. These adventures aren’t called “Dirt Every Day” for nothing, which means some pretty interesting twists and turns were in order, like this drive along sand dunes in Nevada.
That’s far from the only interesting turn along Four Wheeler‘s journey. It’s one awesome adventure, and well worth the full-read found here.
