If you ever wanted a monster Jeep, you could start with a classic SJ chassis Wagoneer or Gladiator. You could even turn your Unlimited Rubicon in to the ultimate off road truck, much like GenRight did with the Terramoto. However, if you want classic looks and proven might, you may want to repurpose a war Jeep like the M35.

becqdnamhbxl8skotjb9 This particular model, which was listed on Craigslist last month, started off as a 1978 Jeep M35, aka the “deuce and a half” for its 2.5-ton weight class. These trucks typically weigh in at around 12,465-lbs. Empty. That’s a massive load, but it takes that weight thanks to the Hercules LDT-465-C1 multi-fuel engine that comes in at 478-cubic-inches and makes 134-horsepower and 330-ft/lbs of torque. Since it’s multi-fuel, it will run on gasoline/oil mix, diesel, jet fuel, or nearly any other combustible source.

In case the Camaro Fly Yellow and Black Rhino-coating don’t give it away, this M35 has been repurposed for civilian duty. As such, it does have some extra amenities that the original does not, like LED lights, stereo, and a set of Rockwells that both see steering duty. Yes, it has rear steer. Torque is sent to those Rockwells by a five-speed manual with a divorced, two-speed transfer case. All for the low, low price of $125,000.
