New Grand Cherokee is looking pretty enticing. We’re glad this official cheat sheet escaped FCA’s paper shredder.

Jeep may be hotter than it’s ever been before, but aside from the Wrangler, parts of its lineup are starting to show their age. Case in point is the WK2 Grand Cherokee. Sure, it’s still a very strong seller (FCA shifted nearly 20k of them in July alone). And, of course, and the Trackhawk is incredible. But the SUV has been on the market since 2011, and sooner or later, its age is going to catch up to it. That’s why Jeep is preparing the all-new WL model for 2021. And now, we have a pretty good idea of what the next-generation Grand Cherokee will look like from the inside.

As reported by Motor1, Instagram user thejeep_guy posted this cheat sheet back in July. It’s excellent spycraft; it looks like they snuck into the company’s Toledo HQ and fished it out of the trash. Hopefully using some kind of Mission Impossible-esque wire and laser system. Anyway, we’re working with a small, pixelated photo here, but even still, there’s a lot to dissect.

Some serious new tech

Jeep Grand Cherokee

The biggest news is the deletion of a shift knob for a console-mounted dial. Then there are the massive, Mercedes-esque screens: A 10.5″ digital gauge cluster, and a new 10.1″ U-Connect infotainment screen. That completely dwarfs the current supersize 8.4″ screen, though it’s believed that it and the 7″ screen will still be offered.  A heads-up display and a 360-degree camera system round out the new digital goodies.

According to the parts list, we also catch a glimpse of a new steering wheel, and learn about a new overhead console. There’s also a terrain selection knob, rear HVAC controls with screen, remote exterior door handles, door lock buttons, climate-controlled, massaging seat buttons. An optional Blue-Ray player, and even new key fobs round out the list. In all, it looks like Jeep will have no problem kissing its longtime-favorite WK2 goodbye.

Of course, you’ll likely need to shell out a bit of dough to get all these features in your WL. But this just goes to show how much Jeep is willing to invest to keep the Grand Cherokee at the top of the domestic SUV market. Plus, if they’re putting this much effort into the creature comforts, just think how much work is going into the next-generation Trackhawk. Let the countdown to 2021 begin.
