Classic Willys Would Make a Great Jeep Project
Looking for a cool restoration project? Well, you might want to consider this WWII Willys Jeep MB.
Oh, but you’ll need a little cash upfront, considering the vintage Jeep will be crossing the block at RM Sotheby’s upcoming Monaco auction.
Built in 1942, the Willys Jeep MB still has factory-quality paint and cloth seats, although the features have worn over the years. Of course, we’d expect as much from a Jeep built nearly 75 years ago. Under the hood, it’s equipped with a 60-horsepower, M38A1 four-cylinder engine that’s paired to a 3-speed manual transmission.
Other features include a 2-speed rear transfer case, four-wheel drive, a light switch on the dashboard and instrument panel, full folding top with side curtains, rear-mounted spare wheel, jerry can, and a spotlight.
Cost? Well, RM Sotheby’s has its estimated price listed at €15,000 – €18,000, or roughly $17,000 to $20,000 USD. Not bad, really, considering the history tied to the Jeep.
