Brutal Hemi-swapped Jeep JK Fears Nothing

YouTuber seeks AMG G-Wagen 4×4 blood to settle the American Muscle versus German engineering debate.

If you set your mind to something, you may as well not do things just half way. And when it comes to a Jeep build, this JK built by DCD Customs left almost nothing untouched. YouTuber The Mogul took a look at one of these rad rides, and found out a lot about the build.

Starting off as a 2015 model, this JK was ripped apart and put back together again. Under the hood, power comes from a 6.4-liter Hemi. It’s been tuned to reportedly make over 550 horsepower. A few power pulls and a cold start rev prove this ride doesn’t just look beastly, it has the heart to go with it.

But it’s not all looks with this Hemi Jeep. A heavy-duty transfer case and Mercedes-AMG sourced transmission handle the extra power, and ultimately that power is sent to Currie RockJock 70 axles front and rear.

For off-road prowess, 40-inch tires are deployed and articulate on King off-road coilovers. To keep the Jeep from damage, armor plating has been added to the underside.

While that’s impressive enough, the other custom work really sets this JK apart. A shaved B-pillar was necessary for the custom roll cage, which also contains harness bars for the racing bucket seats inside.

Of course, without windows or doors, the driving experience can be a little blustery, but there’s no doubt this Jeep is an attention-getter. However, there’s one question that remains at the end of this video: Which is better – German engineering or American engineering? The goal is to hopefully find a Mercedes G550 4×4 Squared and see which one’s faster in a straight line. Our money is on the Jeep, which would probably be better off-road, too.
