BOLT Aims to Get Rid of Your Inferior Locks (and Extra Keys)

BOLT JK Hood Lock

We all know how much of a pain in the butt it can be when you have a great number of keys jangling around in your pocket. You’ve got one for your house, maybe two for your car, and a whole mess of other keys for accessories, whether that’s a gun case, or a hood lock, or whatever. Now, I’m struggling not to make a Lord of the Rings reference here, but wouldn’t it be easier if you just had one key to open them all? Thankfully, that reference is done, and a company named BOLT has the answer.

With the new BOLT Breakthrough One-Key Lock Technology, the lock provides convenient security that eliminates 90% of your keys. Essentially, the BOLT lock breaks down like this: when you get the lock, you stick your ignition key into the lock and it codes itself to that key. You are then able to use that lock anywhere you’d like. And there’s no limit to the number of locks you can create using this very simple method. It gives you the freedom to secure things by just using your ignition key, rather than a different key for each lock.

The BOLT locks are also weatherproof and durable enough to handle anything a Jeep enthusiast can throw at it. BOLT’s locks include Jeep specific parts as well, such as a Jeep Spare Tire Lock for 1997+ Jeep JKs, a JK hood lock for 2007+, and a new BOLT J Mount bracket mounting system that allows Jeep TJ and JK off-road enthusiasts to securely attach their hi-lift jack to the side of their vehicle for easy, vertical access. The company also makes locks for trailers and gear, as well as a 6-foot cable lock.

It’s a rather ingenious little tool for those who don’t trust themselves to remember which key goes to which lock, or when you need to do something fast and don’t want to rummage around for days looking for the right key.
