AWE Enters Jeep Market with ‘Best Sounding Exhausts’ on the Planet

Longtime parts maker AWE breaks into the Jeep off-roading segment with finely crafted and great-sounding new exhaust systems.

One thing that Jeep enthusiasts don’t lack is choices when it comes to aftermarket parts and accessories. But there’s always room for more, especially when those things are superior to the choices we currently enjoy. That certainly seems to be the case with AWE and its brand new line of Jeep exhaust systems, which the long-time precision engineering firm just announced.

These new exhaust systems, designed for the JK and JL Wrangler and JT Gladiator, mark the company’s entrance into the Jeep market, and oh, what a way to break into a new segment. AWE boldly claims their offerings are the “best sounding exhausts on the planet,” but judging from the short clip they’ve provided below, that doesn’t just seem to be marketing-speak.

The Jeeps in that video sound more like sports cars attacking a race track somewhere than off-roaders blasting through the snow. That’s bound to appeal to quite a few folks who prefer to hear their engine rather than leave it muted, as it comes from the factory, or slap on some inferior option that both sounds bad and drones to the point where you don’t want to drive it on the highway at all.

The new AWE Jeep exhaust lineup won’t have that problem as each was designed using AWE’s patented drone-canceling solution, along with what it calls “180 technology,” modular mid-pipes, and 3-inch T304L stainless steel tubing. AWE will offer a variety of tip designs to suit your fancy, along with a configuration specifically tailored for off-road applications, so you won’t have to worry about destroying it the first time you head out to the trails.

The new exhaust systems will come in two flavors – Tread Edition, which is more road-trip friendly, and Trail Edition, which provides best-in-class clearance even with the most aggressive departure angles. Each is a direct bolt-on with a lifetime warranty and dyno-proven max gains of 5 horsepower and 10 pound-feet of torque.

AWE’s new Jeep exhaust systems certainly look (and sound) promising, giving enthusiasts a superior option to much of what’s currently available with perfect fit and finish to boot. But what’s bound to sell them is that sound, of course, and in that regard alone, we think they’ll be a hit.
