75 Years Later, Let’s Look at How Jeeps Became Jeeps
Earlier this year, Jeep held its 50th annual Easter Safari out in the middle of the sands of Moab, and that’s not even Jeep’s most important anniversary in 2016. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the original Jeep. The company even made special edition models for the current lineup and a fancy website for the historic moment.
On the site, you can see a variety of the vehicles that helped shape and progress the brand into what it is today. You’ll see the Willys Overland MB, the CJs (multiple), the Station Wagon, the Wagoneer, the Cherokee, the Grand Wagoneer, and of course, the Grand Cherokee. Essentially, Jeep created what it meant to be an SUV.
Auto Express decided to dive a little deeper into this idea and take these historic vehicles out to Utah, then actually drive them and experience how the development has felt through the years. Watch as James Batchelor finds out how Jeeps became pure Americana.
