JL Jeep Wrangler: Five Things to Expect
Report sheds new light on highly anticipated replacement for JK Jeep Wrangler.
We’re starting to get even more insight about the upcoming 2018 Wrangler. That can only mean one thing: the all-new JL-based Jeep is just about ready to make its big debut.
Even bigger are some of the things we’re learning about the new off-roader, as detailed in an Autoweek report. After sifting through the details, we’ve narrowed down some of the most interesting points noted by the trusted auto news source.
1. Although no one has been able to pin down an exact production start date, the latest speculation says the Jeep will begin rolling off the assembly line before Thanksgiving.
2. When the new JL Jeep Wrangler does debut, don’t be surprised if the two-door model is absent. According to Autoweek, the longstanding traditional model will be delayed until February 2018 along with the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine variant.
3. It seems almost certain now that there will be a powered soft-top offered on the new Wrangler, but the premium feature will likely be limited to top-of-the-line models.
4. If you think you would prefer buying a JK Wrangler, there’ll still be time after the debut of the JL. The current Jeep model isn’t expected to go out of production until March 31, 2018.
5. Lastly, it appears there might be some truth to all the talk about a hybrid-powered Wrangler. The Autoweek report says we could see one in the near future as a 2019 model.
