Question mygig tv?

so, it looks like you can hook up an audio/video source to the mygig with the lockpick,

anyone ever hook up one of those digital converter boxes and a mobile TV antenna to receive TV on their mygig? Seems like it'd be a pretty easy hookup and could (maybe?) work well. Only complication I can see would be locating the remote IR sensor somewhere it can pick up the signal.

I'm thinking that could be very handy when sitting in the car waiting to pick someone up, or whatever.

It would work fine, but not in motion. The new digital signals crap when you're driving down the road. I loved the old analog in my other vehicle.

I didn't know that. too bad, since that would be handy for passengers on long trips.

I guess DVDs it will remain.

Just wait for the FLOTV standalone to come out from audiovox, although I have wanted to know if the digital signal is that "sensitive" to obstructions. Get one off of craigslist for a learning experience, if your sitting it cant be that bad.

not much to research, it's a box that converts TV signals to rca video. The gubmint was giving them away free for a long time, any old TV that doesn't support ATSC will need one, but anything with RCA video and audio inputs will work to receive it.

they are low voltage, so converting power shouldn't be a problem, if nothing else, a regular inverter would work, but I doubt one would be needed, as most probably run on DC.

mobile TV antennas aren't hard to find. I've not used them with atsc, but apparently they aren't that great now according to a post in this thread above.

Hopefully there will be a standardized method of getting mobile ATSC before much longer, but for now I'm loving my Slingbox on the iPhone. It just has a limitation of not being able to use it with a/v out because of Apple.
