My next question...

"IF" I decide to sell it, I'm wondering what kind of price to put on it. I know what I believe it is worth, comparing it to Hemi swaps, the condition, mileage, other upgrades, etc. I wonder however, what the market will allow for it right now. I was told, and have confirmed through AEV, as well as other outlets... The Diesel swap was just about as expensive as the purchase price of the vehicle. I have other upgrades, as well, which are mentioned at the top.

I have not taken the Jeep off road (I just can't do it with this one. Which is one of the reasons I'd like a TJ again.) due to the uniqueness and condition. The thing is immaculate. I got a very good deal on the Jeep, because the original owner had his eye on a collector vehicle, and needed to move one to get the other as soon as he could.

Any suggestions on the value?

That's EXACTLY why you'll NEVER see testing in central Georgia. Cause all they'd hear would be "I caints affode to get a car dat'll pass dat test!" They'd have to make all the junkyards bigger around here to make room for all "da hoopdies".

the only thing about spending money on upgrades is you rarely get the money out of them that you put in.. just because it cost $20k to put a diesel into it doesnt mean the value of the jeep increased $20k..

i think you would be lucky to get anything over what a new jk cost.. just what i think..

No offense,

But have you ever seen a Hemi swap JK go for the same price of an original, new JK? I haven't, and I believe the diesel swap is in the same realm. I understand the upgrade cost vs. what you can get dilema, but the diesel engine swap is another ballgame, IMO. I appreciate your input, and hope to get alot more of that here....

Diesel swap and Hemi swap are different,, but similar in the value that they would add. I think you are going to eat it on this since the J8 can be bought brand new WITH a diesel for around $50,000. I would say you will be lucky to get $45,000 for the Jeep. Just my

I know of a shop that said they could do the engine swap to my JK for around $30,000, but in reality with any engine swap you will be lucky if you can get 1/2 to 1/4 of what the cost of the swap is once the vehicle is used.

What's your source on this? The J8 as of now is not available in the US. The only company that's making them is AEV and the 50K price tag is WITHOUT a drivetrain.

From the AEV site:

Owners should expect to invest approximately $50,000 for a complete running vehicle, chassis plus powertrain.
