Default 72,000 Acres in Tennessee - Redux

JKs from Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky met at the 72,000 acre Coal Creek ORV Park just west of Knoxville to enjoy some off road frolicking. Everyone was great, trails were muddy, and a fantastic time was had by all.

    Airing down.

Park Police (see cute ATV w/ flashing lights) attempting to keep everything organized as they had a Jamboree that weekend with literally hundreds of ATVs.

Gathering across from the Snack Shack. You can see some of the hundreds of vehicles in the background.

Taking a mechanical break to tighten up some loose hardware.

Another stop to check out the map. This park is big!!

After completing a loop of Trail 16 which was pretty muddy.

Note the two colors of mud on the tires.

    Leaves were changing nicely.

    Colors were brilliant.

    More Fall colors.

Meandering down a trail. abock33's silver Unlimited was running stock street tires, but he went almost everywhere the mud tire folks did.

A few guys got to pull out their winch lines.

The sign reads: Caution. Unmaintained Trail. Enter at own Risk. It applied to exiting too. I had just experienced my own drama just to the right of TINMAN_2469.

It was a good idea to tuck the mirrors as there were some tight spots along the trails.

Top of Trail 15 with Andrew providing perspective.

Stop!! Actually, I believe the spotter was attempting to protect his face from the slinging mud.

We didn't get into too much trouble as most of the mudholes were occupied. The kid on the left is pulling out a winch line.

    Another stuck cycle.

And finally, the ubiquitous Project-JK T-shirt.

When did this happen and where was I?

'War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.' John Stuart Mill (1806 - 1873)

Just google Windrock OHV. It's owned and maintained by the coal creek mining company. It's in Oliver springs, Tennessee, which is north west of Oak Ridge. It's an awesome awesome place. It can be a little pricey, especially if the whole family comes, but it's totally worth the cost. They do a great job of maintaining the trails, and trail markers. They have a huge main, gravel, road system through out the park. So, if you're on the outer area's and need to leave or have an emergency. it's usually just a short distance from one trail to another before you'll have access to a main road. I've been 4 weekends now and still have so many trails I wanna check out. It's really that huge!
