Default Rattle when accelerating

Has anyone had this problem when you accelerate there is rattle from below the drivers seat under the Jeep? From inside the car it sounds like its under the hood but when you stand outside the car its under the Jeep, almost sounds like it could be the exhaust line.

JKU Sahara 2007.

Thanks-

JK

Yeah I get this 1 when dirt accumulates on top of the skid and rattles against the exhaust. 2 when I mashed my skid to the point it was just touching the exhaust

I dont always drive where others cant. but when I do, its in my Jeep. Stay muddy my friends

Any rattle under acceleration, is most likely related to the exhaust. Just get under the Jeep and man handle the different parts of the exhaust until you can reproduce the sound. Don.t forget all those heat shields that may be rubbing up against it too.

Is this the noise you're hearing? I've had two rattles under the front in the past.

1. loose bolt on the control arm
2. (noise below) I've been trying to track this one down and it turns out on the exhaust pipe that cross under the JK from passenger to driver has some sort of plate clipped to the top. There appears to be one of the "clips" taht is broken. This is metal, which is surprising. I just tracked this down today so I'm not sure on how it can/shoudl be fixed. It doesn't appear to be a big issue, just annoying. Has anyone come across this? Any suggestions.

Same here: bent skid plate contacting crossover exhaust pipe

Could just be one of the heat shields. Check for broken welds on them. A quick fix is to wedge a washer between the shield and pipe.

I had this same problem and so have many of us... Go get a pipe clamp like this Shop 4-in dia. x 4-in L Galvanized Full Clamp at Lowes.com

tighten it on there and BAM, no more rattle
