Default Surfboard on Jeep - How to.... Pics!

Longboard won't fit inside Jeep. So I take soft-top down.

Bought RacRoll 25" pads and straps. Found at Val Surf (local surf shop). $50.00

These are pretty cool. They are pads that lay on roll bars and you thread straps around the roll bar then through a ring on-top - then snap them together holding the surfboard down - straps can be pulled taught. Then for removal there is a quick release -

Easy and simple solution for transporting surfboard in summer.

I think you ought to just do it, and make people wonder where you are going. Also it just looks cool.

this looks like it could be a good thread...does anyone know of a way to transport boards on top of the soft top? i want to travel about 250 miles this august to martha's vineyard, but am a bit leary to do so with the soft-top down the whole way there and back.

any suggestions? got pics?

I recall seeing some sort of rack that attaches to the passenger doors of a vehicle for carrying lumber - like 2x4's etc... something along those lines might work?

I fit two sit on top kayaks on top of my jeep with no problem don't see a problem fitting two boards. When I surfed i would stack my boards on top of eachother.

Good Idea! I sometimes flip a sit-on-top kayak/ surf-ski on top of mine with the soft top down but have been using thick pads of foam pipe insulation (black closed-cell foam tubes) and some trusty cam-lock tie-downs.
