Beatin' the Heat

Beatin' the Heat
Finally got around to painting the hardtop. Here in Az the heat gets unbearable with the hardtop. Anyone in a hot climate should know what I'm talking about...the top gets so hot it burns to touch it. I masked sanded and painted the top white using Rustoleum Universal White gloss. I masked off just around the inside edge and it's hardly noticeable unless you jump up to look at it. It performs even better than I had hoped keeping the interior MUCH cooler. I highly recommend this to anyone in hot climates and everyone comments it looks stock. While I was at it I also used duplicolor truck bed liner to cover the inside. It looks much cleaner all blacked out. IMO the tops should ahve come like this stock. For anyone who is considering this the rustoleum on the exterior covered easily and formed a nice shell. The duplicolor was much harder to apply evenly, especially with all the bends in the tops, and I recommend using 'many extremely' light coats rather than a few 'normal' light coats to avoid irregularities.
Can't even tell...you can see the ridges sometimes but only if your looking for it
Masked off just inside of the lip
Masked off just before the rear tapers off
Interior:
Many very light coats yielded an even layer
