I have been very happy with my XRC 8. Have done some crazy winching and it has held up well

I bought a Mile Marker SEC12 winch about a year ago and it arrived broke! It won't freespool. Correction, it will freespool if another Jeep is attached to the hook and in reverse. I naturally found this out after owning it for four days and just spooling on the cable. When I called Mile Marker, they told me that if I paid to have it shipped back, ($118/UPS), they would fix it. I don't know if it was just mine or not. I put the incident on YouTube and one guy said it happened to him too. They might make a decent product, but their customer service is shitty. I have always since then, and will say to you, don't buy a mile marker.

IMHO....

Default SmittyBilt XRC10 Comp.

I got the XRC10 a couple months ago and it is awesome! WAY better than the M8000 IMHO. I have a unlimited and i know that 10,000lb winch will pull me out of most stuff. I have used and abused it and I love not having cable; the synthetic line so light and makes winching alot easier.... For the money I dont think you can get a better winch

Sorry guys, I always go with quality!

Really, I think its luck of the draw. Your XRC's work great for you, that’s good. My dad also has a harbor freight 8K on his 30 FT flat bed trailer and it works great for him. It just depends if the Winch Gods were smiling down on you or not when you picked up the winch. That goes for any brand.
